This past Monday night, the annual Awards Dinner for the Lions of District 33S, aka the “Superior” district, was held at the Holy Ghost Hall in Taunton. The event was well attended by Lions from throughout the district and, once again, the Lions of Bridgewater came away with a nice round of awards:

  • Best Secretary, Medium Club: Anne Fagan (Bridgewater Academy Lions)
  • Best Secretary, Extra Large Club: Ben Ellis (Bridgewater Lions Club)
  • Best President, Extra-Large Club, Runner-Up: George Andruk (Bridgewater Lions Club)
  • Best Medium Club, Runner-Up: Bridgewater Academy Lions Club
  • Best Extra-Large Club, Runner-Up: Bridgewater Lions Club

Congratulations to these Lions and their clubs on another great year!

Well, it’s turning into quite a banner month for the Bridgewater Academy Lions. Another member is in the press, and this time it’s our very own Vale Sime. It seems Vale will be one of 287 women honored as “Unsung Heroines”.

You can find the article here.

Congratulations, Vale!

If you haven’t seen the May edition of The Lion magazine, check it out. There’s an extensive interview with Bridgewater Academy Lion Peter Bertelli featured on page 52. Well done, Peter! Lions all over the world are reading about a Bridgewater Lion!

The Bridgewater Community Lions Club is now up and running! The Presidents and Secretaries of the sponsoring clubs signed the Charter Application yesterday, along with the District Governor, and the paperwork is on its way to Lions Club International (LCI)! All that’s left now is for LCI to issue the club our official club number, but for all intents and purposes Bridgewater now has 3 Lions clubs!

We should receive the official charter in about 45 days. That document will define the official charter date of the club. From that date anyone who joins the club within 90 days will still be considered a charter member, so it’s not too late to join and have your name added to the official Charter document with the fancy seal and the signatures of all the Lions dignitaries.

It’s time to celebrate!
